Analyst: Markets, Strategy & Due Diligence
Independent contractor role with potential to transition to full-time employee
PLG is presently seeking candidates for the role of Analyst who are skilled in finding and interpreting data to illuminate our client’s decisions to enter new markets, make investments, or develop successful business strategies.
Under the direction of a Project Manager, Analysts find relevant sources of data to help size and quantify the central questions posed by consulting projects. Examples include:
- What is the total addressable market of an acquisition target?
- What customers and markets represent “highest/best” opportunities for clients?
- What are the key drivers supporting the production or transportation of certain commodities?
- What new technologies are entering the market and are relevant to current business strategies?
The Analyst should be skilled at finding and qualifying a broad range of data sources, understanding how to apply data to real-world business challenges, producing easy-to-understand data visualization, and combining data from disparate sources to achieve new insights. Analysts should have prior experience in interpreting both market and financial data, with a special emphasis on industrial sectors such as logistics, bulk commodities, energy, and manufacturing. In many cases, the analyst will be involved in ‘voice of the customer’ exercises where insights are developed based on market participant interviews.
The PLG approach is a team environment in which the Analyst will play a key role and collaborate closely with project managers and subject-matter experts. The successful candidate can also expect regular interaction with clients and exposure to a wide variety of project work and client industries.
