Houston Haymon
Senior Vice President, PSC Group
We have enjoyed working with PLG on multiple projects to help us evaluate and invest in new business lines and expansions of our service offerings across a complex logistics footprint. PLG is a key partner. They cost-effectively — and collaboratively — develop tailored market and competitive intelligence to give our company, and our Board, confidence in unlocking growth through investment.

Nate Servis
Chief Financial Officer, Cando Rail & Terminals
We worked with PLG recently on multiple engagements, both commercial / market and technical / asset condition, related to acquisitions we were pursuing. PLG has a deep team of consultants and industry experts who worked seamlessly together to provide us with valuable insights that influenced our decision-making process. Their specialization across bulk commodity flows, Class I railroad dynamics, and multi-modal connectivity was a strong supplement to our internal resources and capabilities. We look forward to working with PLG again soon.

Andrew Wilson

Graham and his colleagues know the logistics around refinery and petrochemicals cold…literally, the best advisors we’ve had in the space and true specialists!

Ryan Riddell C.E.T.
Executive Vice President, Shepard Development Corporation
Thanks to PLG, The Simpson Group of Companies seized a valuable opportunity with the Shepard Logistics Centre. As industrial developers unfamiliar with rail, PLG, led by Sr. Consultant Rob Russell, guided us through understanding Calgary’s rail and logistics market. Rob’s expertise facilitated discussions with CPKC and community leaders, enlightening us on the potential of developing our land for rail. With Rob’s support, we formed a concept with CPKC and identified key rail development partners. This collaboration wouldn’t have been possible without PLG, opening doors to a significant development opportunity.

Matthew Reinhart
Vice President, Global Logistics, HF Sinclair
With PLG’s guidance and expertise, we were able to establish an optimized, long-term rail fleet strategy and validate our organizational structure to ensure the successful implementation of current and future business initiatives. We selected PLG Consulting for their expertise in oil and gas rail logistics as well as their proven track record of success. Overall, we were pleased with the results of the assessment, which will be used to drive our enterprise rail fleet strategy.

Benoit Couturier
General Manager - Transportation and Logistics
PLG was instrumental in leveraging our distribution network to establish a solid business case for the go-to-market strategy. Our engagement with PLG transformed our internal knowledge of the rail dynamics and set up the foundations for successful lasting relationships with our carriers – a legacy our entire organization will benefit from going forward.

Charles Lussier
Chief Commercial Officer, Warrior Met Coal
We engaged PLG to help us design a business continuity plan to address the potential operational and infrastructure risks of our current supply chain and provide options for business expansion. We also asked them to evaluate a significant capital investment for a multi-modal and flexible outbound logistics plan to accommodate double-digit volume increases from a new mine. Working with PLG’s diverse group of experts, we were able to identify new strategies to optimize our current supply chain, manage our increased volumes, and improve our competitiveness. Additionally, they identified millions of dollars in cost-savings, while mitigating our risk. I look forward to bringing PLG back to help us with future ‘continuous improvement’ initiatives.

Patrick Foody
Executive Vice President, Advanced Biofuels, Iogen Corporation
We selected PLG Consulting because of the breadth of their knowledge and understanding of the U.S. transportation industry. In addition to developing detailed operations and cost models for our project, they were able to highlight trends in the industry, permitting and regulatory issues, and prepared customized options to fit our situation both now and in the future. Their industry experts delivered exactly what we were looking for in an efficient and professional manner and we look forward to working with PLG again in the future.

Jack Hellmann
President and CEO, Genesee & Wyoming Inc.
We contracted PLG for an Energy Sector Strategic Research & Actionable Opportunity Project. Our goals were to determine specific expansion opportunities within G&W’s core short line and regional freight railroad business. I saw PLG at SWARS and reported that the accuracy of the market predictions, and opportunity target areas they delivered provided the information we needed to achieve our goals.

Craig Iseli
Executive Vice President, PVS Chemicals, Inc.
We engaged PLG Consulting for an assessment of our rail logistics to assist in our business planning and strategy. The experience PLG brought provided us good suggestions both organizationally and strategically on how to improve the management of our logistics functions. The assessment identified specific business opportunities, strategies to optimize our fleet, and tools to analyze our performance and suppliers. Our engagement with PLG was on time, efficient and provided us with actionable suggestions, support, follow-up, and gave us confidence moving forward.

Alex Darden
Partner, EQT Partners Inc.
We have used PLG on many projects to help us understand the implications of complex industry trends and the resultant positioning of certain specific assets. This includes a recent experience in which PLG helped us evaluate a port and rail terminal and its ability to become a significant logistics hub. What distinguishes PLG is that they understand their markets from an insider’s point of view; not just as a consultant analyzing data. So they are able to bring to bear industry experts who have the knowledge and operational experience in specific market sectors, and who can thereby provide unique views. For excellent commentary and quantifiable data analysis in logistics and chemical niches, we use PLG.

Gary R. Enzor
Chairman & CEO, Quality Distribution
We commissioned PLG to analyze the impact of shale fracking on the North American chemical industry renaissance. Quality Distribution is the leading chemical bulk transportation carrier in North America, and PLG helped us understand how the shale-driven low-cost natural gas feedstock positively affected chemical supply chains. PLG provided chemical and energy experts who helped us understand where to make investments in facilities and equipment to support the substantially improved industry volumes. The PLG study delivered the information necessary to enable us to make good decisions about the appropriate chemical growth markets so we could optimize our network design.

Mindi Farber-DeAnda
Team Lead - Biofuels and Emerging Technologies, Office of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Analysis, U.S. Energy Information Administration
This was the first time in the history of the Petroleum Supply Monthly that we had incorporated crude-by-rail data, and we worked collaboratively each month with PLG navigating huge data sets with an accelerated deadline that was met within budget. The PLG experts developed strategies and ways to connect segments of data that enabled us to have transparent and accurate crude–by-rail data. The accurate reporting method we built with PLG aligns with the way the EIA presents data and is utilized in presentations by various organizations. Our efforts were recognized as #2 of the top 15 EIA accomplishments in 2015.

Scott Williams
Vice President of Supply Chain North America, Solvay Chemicals - Soda Ash & Derivatives GBU
Solvay ships almost all of our products by rail. We operate a sizable rail car fleet, and we ship from a manufacturing facility in Wyoming. We engaged PLG to help us determine if we were utilizing our infrastructure efficiently. Solvay’s growth plan had rail infrastructure implications, and we needed to evaluate our infrastructure to determine how best to make investments to achieve our goals. Our need for assistance fit into a very specific niche, and our scope of work was well-defined. PLG made several key recommendations on how to better utilize our current rail management system, and the overall use of our railcar track and trace infrastructure. The PLG team provided the expertise and very practical and pragmatic solutions we could implement to reach our objectives.
